The birth of Seiko watches dates back to 1881 when a 22-year-old Japanese entrepreneur named Kintaro Hattori decides to open a watch repair shop in Tokyo.
His intent was to become a leader in the watch industry, in step with the times and with innovation.
In 1892 he started the “Seikosha” factory producing the first wall clock, 3 years later he put the first wristwatch on the market. His motto was that “SEIKO was always one step ahead of the others”. Seiko watches are very successful in Japan, a success that is also repeated internationally.
Over the years, the company has perfectly maintained the innovative spirit of its inventor, remaining among the pioneers of the sector, thanks also to the pursuit of perfection.
